We currently have an exciting opportunity for RNs to work in our Center for Perioperative Care!
We are looking for per diem staff with a schedule of 10-hour shifts, Day/Evening rotation) with no weekend commitments required. The primary office hours are 5:30am-9:30pm.
The expert team at Massachusetts General Hospital's Center for Perioperative Care provides every patient with all of the necessary information to ensure a stress-free and comfortable care experience.
The RNs deliver care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients who are 16 years and older.
* Prepares patients for surgery/procedures and provides Phase I and II recovery care.
* Nurses rotate through the Pre-Procedure Evaluation (PPE) Program assessing pre-surgical and procedural patients whose ages range from pediatric to geriatric.
* Our dynamic RN team assesses all age groups, including pediatrics, by our PPE Phone Program.

Requirements for an CPC RN:
* 2+ years experience as practicing licensed nurse.
* Minimum of 1 year Acute Surgical Care experience.
* Recent Surgery, Med Surg, PACU, and Intensive Care experience, preferred.
* Require a BSN degree.

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

* Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
* Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
* Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
* Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
* Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
* Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Excellent verbal and communication skills.
* Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
