Critical Care Registered Nurse - Boston, Massachusetts

This opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in Intensive Care to support a Level III Trauma Center's Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The position involves night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage, with floating responsibilities primarily to medical/surgical units. The ICU is a 20-bed unit providing care for a diverse adult patient population facing critical conditions like sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and severe psychiatric comorbidities.

Collaboration with attending physicians and residents, who are onsite 24/7, ensures comprehensive patient management.

Key Qualifications and

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years continuous experience in an adult ICU setting; MICU experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is mandatory
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Comfortable with floating to medical/surgical units, managing a patient ratio that ranges from 1:1 in high acuity situations to 1:4 or 1:5 on med/surg floors
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system is a plus

Responsibilities include direct patient care, monitoring telemetry, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and adjusting care plans in a fast-paced environment with high-acuity patients. This is a contract position requiring night shift availability and every other weekend commitment, with floating as needed.
