Position detailsPosition: Registered Nurse
Location: Yawkey 6 IMCU
Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights / Rotating Weekends)
About the departmentCritical Care/Y6 Intermediate Care Unit at BMC is a fast-paced 38-bed unit providing care for intermediate-level medical patients. Patients on this unit include complex cardiology cases, pericardial drains, TAVR patients, ventilated patients, and other complex medical issues.
Position summary: As an RN in the Critical Care unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care within a patient-centered care model, supported by a strong nursing organization.
Job responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
- Must have active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain one
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
- Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years - Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language is a plus

Nursing CC - Critical Care (SICU, MICU, Step down)Compensation Range: $38.05 - $75.33 per hour
This range offers an estimate based on minimum qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer, including education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
