Responsibilities
  • Manage outpatient care in collaboration with a physician, addressing acute and chronic issues related to oncology
  • Provide anticipatory guidance, education, and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Actively participate in an interdisciplinary care team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Utilize critical thinking and research principles to improve quality of care within the institute and community
  • Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to further knowledge in support of the institute's mission and values
Qualifications
  • Authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Current certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants
  • Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing or Nurse Practitioner experience, or corresponding professional experience for Physician Assistants
  • A Master s degree in Nursing or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Studies program
  • Maintenance of current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing (e.g., OCN, AOCN, CPON, BMTCN, CPHON) for Nurse Practitioners
  • Oncology Nurse Practitioner experience or advanced experience as a Physician Assistant
  • Additional relevant certifications or specialized training in oncology care
