Pay Range: $41.71 – $105.65 per hour
Summary: The registered nurse will plan and provide patient care for individuals assigned to the intermediate care surgical unit. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, procedural support, infection control, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Functions- Organize patient care; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for assigned patients.
- Prioritize care activities for patients with varying acuity and maintain clear communication.
- Document patient care in a clear, concise, and compliant manner.
- Develop comprehensive educational and discharge plans based on patient/family needs and community resources.
- Participate in unit-based quality management and improvement programs.
- Administer medications safely and perform nursing procedures efficiently.
- Maintain infection control practices and utilize universal precautions.
- Collaborate professionally with patients, families, and other disciplines.
- Act as a role model of the ANA code of ethics.
- Support unit operation during staff absences and participate in orientation of new staff.
- Provide cost‑effective judgment and make decisions within budgetary boundaries.
Education: Graduate of an approved nursing school with current registration in Massachusetts. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for newly licensed nurses.
Licenses & Credentials: Registered Nurse (RN) – State License.
Experience: Prior experience is not required unless specified for specialty areas.

- Observation, priority setting, and stress management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Applied knowledge of hospital standards and policies.
