MDS OBRA Coordinator Nurse
Saint Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a Joint Commission, American Healthcare Association Bronze Medal Award-winning short‑term rehab, long‑term, and skilled nursing care community, is seeking a highly motivated MDS OBRA Coordinator Nurse to join our team in Dorchester.
Base Pay$ per year
SummaryThe MDS OBRA Coordinator Nurse is directly responsible for coordinating and completing the Resident Assessment processes in the center. The coordinator ensures appropriate and optimal clinical reimbursement by applying advanced nursing clinical skills, analyzing data, educating team members, and coordinating the exchange of resident information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Must be a licensed nurse in Massachusetts;
Registered Nurse (RN) preferred. - Minimum of two years of MDS experience.
- Experience with and knowledge of the Patient‑Driven Payment Model (PDPM) required.
- Resident Assessment Coordinator certification (RAC‑CT) preferred.
- Medicaid CMI experience highly preferred.
- Integrity, attention to detail, accuracy, time‑management skills, ability to meet deadlines, critical‑thinking skills, written and verbal communication skills, care plan development skills, and problem‑solving skills.
- Promote the capturing of appropriate clinical reimbursement for services provided while ensuring the highest level of revenue integrity.
- Be highly involved in determining skilled level of care for Medicare and/or Medicare Advantage payer residents and procuring required Medicare‑specific documentation. Responsible for physician certification of a skilled level of care throughout the Medicare stay; involved in making eligibility determinations and obtaining stay authorizations as needed.
- Work closely with physicians to obtain accurate and complete documentation to support ICD‑10‑CM diagnosis coding.
- Audit and improve staff education/competency as needed to ensure accurate and timely completion of supporting clinical documentation.
