Position Summary
We are looking for a licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up of patients within Pediatric Endocrinology/Diabetes Clinic under the direction of physicians in the clinic. The NP will perform histories, physical examinations, data collection and education by following physician direction and prescribed guidelines. As an expert professional, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible and accountable for providing thorough patient evaluations, care management and education for our patients as well as communication with outside health providers/school nurses.

Lead in patient care:
Provide endocrinology, diabetes, and weight management clinical care in the ambulatory and inpatient setting. We offer comprehensive Type 1 and 2 Diabetes Programs and an Adolescent Transgender Program. We have a co-located ambulatory procedure unit for endocrine testing. We collaborate closely with Pediatric and Adult GI and Nutrition on weight management services, including bariatric surgery. We enjoy a robust collaboration with our Adult Endocrinology colleagues, including an embedded adult endocrinologist, to manage a Transition to Adult Endocrine Care Program for our adolescents.
We have a strong partnership with Endocrinology at Boston Children’s Hospital, including shared clinic and consult coverage and seamless access to qua ternary care. Strong clinical skills, and a passion for academic medicine are essential.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties
- Clinical Practice
- Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients and families according to established collaborative protocols and standards of care.
- Sets priorities for appropriate and efficient management of patient care that reflects cost effective management of time, available human resources, supplies, and equipment.
- Performs physical examinations and provides preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and appropriate to patient needs.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Based on outcome of diagnostic, lab, and physical assessment findings, arranges for appropriate plan of care and follow-up.
