Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a Level 1 trauma setting requiring MA RN licensure and scrub experience.

• Work in the Operating Room within a Level 1 trauma hospital
• Handles a range of surgical services including general, gynecology, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
• 17 operating rooms staffed 24/7
• Day/night rotation with 12-hour FLEX shifts; 7 a.m. start for days, 7 p.m. start for nights
• Every third weekend and every other holiday required as needed
• One call shift per schedule period
• May float to Moakley OR as needed
• Primary responsibilities include scrub and circulating duties across a variety of surgical specialties
• Must pass Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (may be taken twice)
• Positive attitude and adaptability are essential for success
• Teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams required
• Monthly parking fees apply for on-site parking
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Scrub experience in neuro and vascular services is highly preferred
• Dress code and orientation policies will be shared upon assignment

• Active MA RN license required prior to consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient Operating Room experience required
• Scrub experience required
• Level 1 trauma hospital experience preferred
• Competency in at least five of the listed surgical services required
• Excellent communication skills and flexibility required
• At least 18 months of specialty experience required
• Two professional references, including one at manager level with a recent evaluation, required
