Job DescriptionBoston University Medical Center is recruiting two full‑time cardiology nurse practitioners to join a multidisciplinary cardiology team. The roles focus on the comprehensive management of heart failure patients in an outpatient setting and the clinical management of cardiology patients receiving intravenous and subcutaneous therapies.
Responsibilities- Heart Failure Nurse Practitioner (HF NP):
Manage outpatient heart failure patients, coordinate patient education, and conduct intensive telephone triage to guide symptom management, medication adjustments, and urgent care decisions, reducing hospital readmissions. - IV Infusion Nurse Practitioner (IV NP):
Provide direct patient care for cardiology patients receiving intravenous and subcutaneous therapies in an outpatient clinic, infusion suite, or hospital setting; initiate and manage IV infusion treatments, monitor responses, and coordinate ongoing cardiovascular care. Triage infusion requests from ED, outpatient clinics, inpatient teams, and support advanced treatments such as subcutaneous amyloid cardiomyopathy therapies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage patients autonomously within established protocols.
- Experience in care coordination, scheduling, follow‑up, and ordering/ interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, ECG, echo).
- Prior cardiology and heart‑failure clinical experience preferred.
- Licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of Massachusetts.
- Team‑oriented with excellent communication skills.
