Registered Nurse, Maternal Child Health

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a Magnet® recognized organization and the largest trauma and safety net hospital in New England. As a registered nurse (RN) in the Maternal Child Health Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, evidence‑based care to patients, families, and the community across units including Labor & Delivery, Mother‑Baby, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Inpatient Pediatrics.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Maternal Child Health Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records and enter/inter‑pret computerized data.
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
  • Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Maternal Child Health experience required.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
  • RNs with a Diploma, ASN, or BSN are preferred; ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years is required.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
