As a registered nurse (RN) in the Maternal Child Health Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, evidence‑based care to patients, families, and the community across units including Labor & Delivery, Mother‑Baby, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Inpatient Pediatrics.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Maternal Child Health Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and enter/inter‑pret computerized data.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Maternal Child Health experience required.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
- RNs with a Diploma, ASN, or BSN are preferred; ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years is required.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
