Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Open Heart)

Human Edge Health is seeking an experienced Travel OR RN – Open Heart for a premier surgical facility in Boston, Massachusetts supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures.

Assignment Details

Location:

Boston, MA
Assignment Dates: 02/16/2026 – 05/16/2026
Duration: 13 weeks

Hours:

40 hours/week
Shift: 10-hour days

Primary Schedule Options
Four 10-hour shifts (primary): 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Rotates to: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM

OR

Five 8-hour shifts:
6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Rotates to: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Call Requirements
One weekend of call per month
Cardiac or Endovascular Call:
Friday 7:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
30-minute response time when on call

Short Call:
One 2–4 hour shift weekly
Examples:
5:15 PM – 7:15 PM
3:15 PM – 7:17 PM
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

CVI Call:
One night per week
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (cardiac or endovascular emergency call)

Holidays:
Must be willing to work any holidays occurring during contract

Unit & Case Mix
Cardiac surgery and cardiac transplant surgery
Open vascular and endovascular surgery
Thoracic surgery and thoracic robotics
General surgery

Prefer candidates who can both scrub and circulate (scrubbing not required).

Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
Registered Nurse license in good standing
Minimum of 1 year Operating Room nursing experience
1–3 years of related clinical experience
BLS (AHA)
ACLS

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a teaching hospital
Specialty surgical experience
