Position Summary:The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for performing routine technical and clinical patient care in a busy Emergency Department. Responsible for patient care of assigned patients under the general direction of the Emergency Department Medical Director, with direct supervision by the Attending Physician and primary Registered Nurse.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Observes, recognizes, and reports signs and symptoms that require emergency treatment, initiates measures and/or first aid.
- Accurately obtains, records, and reports vital signs and rechecks as indicated and reports abnormal findings to the primary nurse, charge nurse, or physician.
- Sets up equipment for and/or assists physicians/clinicians with treatments, dressings, and tests as assigned.
- Performs 12-lead EKG. Documents patient information and gives the EKG promptly to the appropriate nurse and physician.
- Establishes and maintains IVs and hangs fluids according to physician orders.
- Administers medications via the following routes:
Oral, sublingual, nebulizer, IM, SC, ETT, IV Infusion, and IV Push in critical situations.
- Graduate of an approved Paramedic Training program. Certification as an EMT‑P is preferred. Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required 信 .
- This job requires the ability to perform the following:
Prolonged standing and walking. Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling and squatting, and lifting of 5‑10 lbs.
Hourly rate starting at $29.25 per hour, and up to $44 per hour based on experience.
