About the RoleThe Mass General Cancer Center Protocol Office (CCPO) conducts multi‑phase studies in the outpatient setting at the MGH Cancer Center. As a Research Nurse Coordinator for Lymphoma, you will manage study protocols, support clinical trials, and help translate new therapies into patient care. You will build strong relationships with patients, providing education, triage, support, and guidance throughout the clinical trial experience.
Responsibilities- Screen and enroll patients for lymphoma trials, documenting all encounters in the medical record.
- Provide patient education and triage phone support between treatment visits.
- Manage symptom control, adverse event reporting, oral study drug adherence, and protocol deviations.
- Collaborate closely with infusion RNs, advanced practice providers, physicians, and the regulatory team.
- Act as a resource to the multidisciplinary care team regarding protocol specifications and investigational agent administration.
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including adverse events, study drug adherence, and phone encounters.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and help establish standards of patient care.
- Support the CCPO mission by making clinical trials accessible to diverse and underserved communities.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions.
- Record medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient condition.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of experience; oncology and/or research nursing preferred.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required (Bachelor's preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and principles of practical nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑5:30 pm. Set schedule with the possibility of one remote day per week.
