Position Summary / Department SummaryNurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team
Key Responsibilities- Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent critical illness in the inpatient setting.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs.
- Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research.
- Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics.
- 40 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12 hour shifts, with every 4th weekend.
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required.
- A current MA NP license.
- BLS and PALS certification.
Sign‑on bonus of $5,000.00 for full‑time (40 hours) APP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years).
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good‑faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job‑related factors.
