Join the Museum of Science, Boston, as our Manager of Community Engagement and Outreach, where you’ll lead initiatives that build meaningful and lasting connections with diverse communities. In this role, you’ll drive impactful partnerships and foster inclusive access to science learning, directly contributing to the Museum’s mission of inspiring a love of science in everyone.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Community Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain 30-50 partnerships annually with external organizations and community groups to provide access to science education.
- Data and Impact Analysis: Collaborate with the Research and Evaluation team on 5-10 data collection initiatives annually to assess the impact and success of our outreach programs and identify community needs.
- Heritage Month Celebrations: Assist in planning, recruiting, and marketing for 6-8 Heritage Month Weekend Celebrations each year, ensuring these events are impactful and well-attended.
- Bilingual Program Development: Work closely with the MOS en Español team to develop 20-25 bilingual products that make our programs more accessible to Spanish-speaking communities.
- Community Use Space Support: Host and support 25-40 external groups using the Museum’s community space, ensuring these collaborations are fruitful and align with the Museum’s goals.
- Strategic Outreach and Communication: Collaborate with teams across the Museum to develop and implement strategies that increase public engagement, retention, and communication, focusing on 2-4 key spotlight areas annually.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to coordinate and Professional experience in museums, cultural or community settings, diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; social justice; civil rights; social work; youth development; or other related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse communities.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective engagement strategies.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
- Proven communication skills, written, verbal, and digital in both English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to lift 30-50 pounds of equipment/supplies as needed.
- Experience working in diverse communities, including multiple generations (seniors, youth, working adults), as well as across ethnic and racial communities
- Content knowledge in a STEM field
- Proficiency in Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
