Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Associate Partner, Learn to Earn (NP)

New Profit is a pioneering venture philanthropy organization that backs social entrepreneurs who are advancing equity and opportunity in America. In partnership with a national network of philanthropists, New Profit provides unrestricted funding and strategic support to a portfolio of social entrepreneurs to help them realize their full potential. We also work to ensure that all social entrepreneurs can thrive by influencing how government and philanthropy fund and advance social problem solving through policy advocacy, convening, and field leadership efforts.

Since its founding in 1998, New Profit has invested over $250M in its portfolio and unlocked over $1.7B in public sector funding for social innovation.

About the Postsecondary Innovation For Equity Initiative

New Profit is launching a $17M Postsecondary Innovation for Equity (PIE) initiative to accelerate the efforts of social entrepreneurs to re-architect pathways to economic mobility for underrepresented young people. (By “underrepresented,” we mean young people from low-income communities who are acquiring postsecondary credentials at a much lower rate than young people from high-income communities.) Focusing on innovations that weave together acquisition of postsecondary credentials with access to upwardly mobile careers, the PIE Initiative is a part of Learn to Earn, New Profit’s postsecondary and career strategy.

The first phase of the PIE Initiative, the Beacon Cohort, will bring together 21 innovative organizations to advance individual and collective learning, build organizational capacity to collect and report outcomes data, and develop a blueprint for how entrepreneurship can advance equity in postsecondary education.

About the Position

The Associate Partner will be responsible for the strategy and operations of the Beacon Cohort of the PIE Initiative, including the following:

  • Design, plan, and lead execution of convenings that speak to the interests and concerns of grantees and funders
  • Broker access to New Profit resources that help grantees advance their work
  • Cultivate and facilitate a strong community that results in widespread information sharing, support, and collaboration
Build Beacon grantee’s capacity to collect and report outcomes data
  • Understand outcomes data collection, analysis, and reporting among grantees and what kinds of support they need to advance their efforts
  • Identify outcomes measurement consultants who can help grantees advance their efforts; manage consultants and broker consultations with grantees
  • Work with grantees and consultants to figure out how to validate outcomes measures; broker relationships between grantees and validating organizations
  • Ensure the Beacon Cohort meets its goal: grantees report semi-standardized, validated, employment and income data for graduates by December 2021
Contribute to the vision and success of Learn to Earn
  • Continuously learn about innovative approaches to helping underrepresented learners acquire postsecondary credentials and access upwardly mobile careers
  • Contribute to Learn to Earn’s ongoing strategy development, including the design and selection of the Core Cohort of the PIE Initiative
