Assistant Director of Development

GLAD provides a supportive and friendly work environment dedicated to groundbreaking achievement for LGBTQ identifying people and people living with HIV. Recent community support projects include maintaining a general COVID-19 resource list and FAQs focused on family protections. GLAD has achieved victories in modernizing family and parentage laws in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

The organization is also working to pass the Equality Act to extend protections under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Additionally, GLAD is committed to racial justice, reforming systems that disproportionately harm LGBTQ BIPOC communities, such as the criminal justice, juvenile justice, and child welfare systems. Staff have opportunities to influence change through their daily work, professional development, and participation in initiatives like the Racial and Economic Justice Working Group and GLAD for Economic Opportunity (GEO) committee.

The Development Department supports GLAD by raising funds through individual donations, events, corporate funding, and grants, which account for over 90% of the organization’s revenue. The Assistant Director of Development will develop strategies to grow GLAD’s individual, planned, and corporate giving programs. This role involves external fundraising, working with the Major Gifts Team, leadership, the development committee, and the Board of Directors to build relationships with current and prospective donors.

This position is ideal for an experienced fundraiser passionate about GLAD’s mission, with a focus on donor engagement and moves management. Candidates should have experience managing donor relationships in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. The Assistant Director will also lead initiatives for young donor engagement and legacy giving, managing a portfolio of approximately 100 major donors.

The salary range for this role is $72,000 to $82,000 annually.
