* Position Summary:
** Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Manager will play a key role on the Boston Cares team in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to more than 4,000 individual volunteers engaging with Boston Cares and our agency partners annually through the Calendar and Allies for Immigrants programs. The Program Manager will be responsible for day-to-day communication with volunteers and community partners, including volunteer recruitment, orientations, and ongoing customer service.
** Key responsibilities of the Program Manager will include:
*** Serve as the primary contact for Boston Cares volunteers; manage day to day communications with volunteers and elevate issues as necessary, provide technical assistance to volunteers, provide high-quality customer service
* Manage volunteer recruitment, orientation, activation, and retention; work with Senior Program Manager to develop and implement strong strategies to meet nonprofit partner needs
* Coordinate 12-15 New Volunteer Orientations monthly + Recruit and train staff and volunteers in facilitating orientations + Lead virtual and in-person orientation sessions + Identify new opportunities and locations to host in-person sessions + Oversee recruitment and coordination of virtual orientations while developing and implementing in-person orientations + Manage secure collection and handling of volunteer information in compliance with organizational standards
* Support the recruitment, training, and engagement of Volunteer Leaders
* Track and manage volunteers in our Hands On Connect, Salesforce driven, database program; ensure monthly and annual volunteer reports are up to date and accurate
* Manage the volunteer opportunities on our website by uploading and updating information on a regular basis, including batch uploads of opportunities and adjustments requested by community partners
* Support the Senior Program Manager with communications between our team and our partners, including responding to questions via phone and email in a timely manner
* Develop and share out communications to volunteers, including the weekly e-update, emails about specialty programs/events, and creating/updating program collateral as needed; support the Senior Manager and Marketing & Strategy Committee in the development and distribution of social media content
* Support programming for volunteers, including coordinating training and recognition opportunities
* Support the Senior Program Manager and the Director of Corporate & Community Engagement Initiatives in the implementation of special events, including MLK Day of Service and the Annual Awards reception for volunteers
* Support special projects and initiatives as needed
** Corporate Program Support:
*** Assist in the management of corporate project scheduling and implementation community partners as needed
* Lead corporate volunteer events on-site and virtually; support project prep as needed
** Additionally, the Program Manager will:
*** Be an active member of the Boston Cares staff team
* Establish and meet yearly goals and objectives
