Director of Development

Meet financial targets to achieve annual and long term goals.

Direct, manage, and develop a small, dedicated team to incorporate the vision for development.

Support the design and lead the implementation of an innovative, effective investor/donor engagement strategy to attract, engage, steward and retain donors.

Represent company at external functions and events.

Travel to corporation and foundations to foster relationships as needed.

Prepare and present plans and reports to management, board and other stake holders.

• 8 years progressively responsible fundraising experience required plus 6+ years at the management level.
• Proven skill in developing institutional, funding, and/or other external partnerships and in managing high-stakes relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing a team, and the ability to work closely with a wide range of partners, including staff, board members, external partners and donors.
• An entrepreneurial spirit and strong interest to work in start-up environment with ability to handle a degree of ambiguity.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Experience addressing multi-faceted audiences on issues related to healthcare..
• Demonstrated success creating and tracking operating budgets as well as reporting financial outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines, organizing time priorities, collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Strong foundation fundraising knowledge, with a track record of successful long-term relationships with funders, individuals, and corporations with ability to collaborate with national and regional staff in support of fundraising activities. S/he will be a strategic visionary who is customer service-oriented and thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, results-oriented culture.
