Assurance Manager or Director – Nonprofit

Join CLA (Clifton Larson Allen ) as an Assurance Manager or Director in our Nonprofit practice. This in‑office role is based in the Washington DC area offices (Arlington, VA; Timonium, MD; North Bethesda, MD; Columbia, MD) with additional opportunities in Massachusetts (Quincy, Andover, Boston).

• Manage and develop relationships with clients.
• Assist clients in meeting audit and financial planning objectives using a range of tools.
• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of engagement processes to promote efficiencies and deliver value.
• Develop, mentor, and oversee client engagement teams.
• Lead engagement oversight by monitoring time budgets and deadlines; communicate important developments, facts, and recommendations to engagement principals.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis on financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Current CPA license required.
• Experience in the nonprofit industry.
• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and tax concepts.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (infrequent overnight travel).
• Strong client‑relationship management, communication, analytical, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent client service orientation with ability to expand services and develop new business.

The compensation range for this position in Maryland is $108,500 – $184,000, and in Massachusetts $109,000 – $184,000.
