We’re partnered with a rapidly expanding CPA firm in Greater Boston that’s seeking an Audit Managing Director to lead complex engagements, drive client relationships, and play a key role in firm-wide strategy and growth.

This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule, strong operational support, and a highly competitive compensation package with total target compensation around $250K

As Audit Managing Director, you’ll oversee a diverse audit and attest portfolio across multiple industries, including professional services, franchising, technology, construction, manufacturing & distribution, and real estate
. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to sophisticated clients while ensuring technical excellence, risk management, and financial performance across all engagements.

You’ll bring deep technical audit and attest expertise
, with strong command of GAAP, GAAS, and applicable regulatory requirements
, and act as the firm’s go-to leader on complex accounting and reporting matters.

Beyond client delivery, you’ll be responsible for the overall risk and financial management of engagements
, ensuring profitability, quality, and compliance. You’ll continuously review the performance of engagement teams, proactively resolving issues, coaching leaders, and maintaining the firm’s high standards.

This role is both strategic and hands-on—ideal for a senior audit leader who enjoys mentoring, business development, and shaping scalable processes while remaining close to clients and technical work.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead and oversee complex audit and attest engagements across diverse industries
  • Serve as a senior client advisor on accounting, reporting, and regulatory matters
  • Possess and apply deep knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit-related regulations
  • Manage engagement risk, quality control, and financial performance
  • Continuously review engagement team performance and resolve discrepancies
  • Mentor partners, managers, and staff; build and retain high-performing teams
  • Contribute to firm strategy, growth initiatives, and client development
