ReSource Waste Services LLC is looking for a Facility Manager for our Roxbury, MA location. The facility is located 10 minutes from historic downtown Boston in the Newmarket business district of the Roxbury neighborhood, with quick and easy access to I-90 and I-93. ReSource Roxbury is a three-shift operation.

Summary Description

This position is responsible for directing and overseeing a C&D processing facility (MRF), maintenance, and administration activities to ensure safe and efficient production in compliance with application standards and regulations and in accordance with the company’s Core Vision. The facility utilizes processing equipment to remove recyclables from C&D such as metals, wood and other recoverable material to help make end products to be repurposed.

In addition, the Processing Facility Manager must communicate objectives, select, develop, and evaluate the team in accordance with company policies and government regulations.

Essential Functions

Develop overall facility administrative, operational, safety, and maintenance procedures in conjunction with the upper management and update as necessary; ensure conformance with established policies and procedures.

  • Directs the efforts of operations & maintenance personnel towards completion of their work in a safe and efficient manner with reliable facility operation. Set expectations, train, motivate and coach.
  • Manage facility activities and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare and prioritize facility operating budget; monitor and control costs within approved budget.
  • Provide for maintenance of all facility financial, administrative, and production records and reports.
  • Ensure maintenance of standard facility condition records for the purpose of forecasting required maintenance, parts replacement, and budget considerations.
  • Review and evaluate facility performance and implement facility improvements and/or corrective actions to ensure maximum operating efficiency in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that necessary materials, supplies, and support equipment are available for use by operations personnel.
  • Identify facility equipment or process improvements to increase safety, reliability, and profitability.
  • Monitors and reports on budget variances.
  • Monitors and reports on deviations of facility performance from expectations.
  • Ensure the procurement of equipment replacement and maintenance/repair contractors; approve all purchase orders within established approval levels.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new concepts, trends, and methods applicable to government rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with partners, environmental and regulatory agencies, equipment suppliers, employees, community organizations and contractors.
  • Develop and implement plans and budget to meet facility objectives.
  • Interview, select, assign responsibilities, and schedule personnel; and provide support as required.
  • Evaluate individual and facility activities and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Prepare appropriate reports, recommendations and maintain records as required.

SKILL/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Education:

    Associates’ Degree preferred or equivalent experience in waste management and/or recycling facilities.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 to 7 years in management role, preferably in recycling facility, processing facility or equivalent.
  • Experience with state and federal agencies.
  • Requires considerable judgment to work independently and with a team.
  • High sense of economic awareness for cost-effective facility operations.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to promote and sustain health & safety and environmental compliance.
  • Flexibility to align with our 24/7 operations, this position requires availability to work and/or respond if needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Microsoft Office and Outlook.

ReSource Waste Services LLC offers competitive pay and benefits, including medical, dental and vision plans, 401k, paid vacation and holidays, and an incentive compensation plan.

Starting pay is based on experience.

Pay range: $115,000 – $145,000.
