The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the Peacock Properties Portfolio, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. This role requires proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as light carpentry and painting skills. The technician will maintain the physical condition of buildings, respond to maintenance requests, and ensure that work sites are clean and safe after assignments.
Responsibilities- Complete maintenance tasks assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
- Update assigned maintenance tasks daily.
- Ensure all work sites are left clean and safe after completion of assignments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
- Alert management when vehicle maintenance is needed and facilitate the maintenance.
- Maintain van inventory of tools and materials.
- Purchase materials necessary for maintenance items and submit work orders daily.
- Accurately track billable hours onsite and add them into work orders daily.
- Perform minor and routine maintenance activities including painting, cleaning, carpentry, handyman tasks, light plumbing, and electrical work.
- Oversee contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications as needed.
- Make recommendations for supplies, materials, and equipment needed on properties.
- Report additional findings/repairs to relevant staff to optimize maintenance requests and billable time.
- Assist the Board of Trustees and relevant staff in maintaining the physical condition of the building.
- Perform minor repairs in individual units on an emergency basis when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of maintenance logs.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Experience in construction painting and maintenance tasks.
- OSHA certification (preferred but not required)
