The Director of Demand Planning and Supply Chain leads end-to-end forecasting, inventory management, and operational execution to align commercial goals with supply capacity. They optimize inventory, reduce costs, and improve service levels by collaborating across sales, manufacturing, and finance. Key responsibilities include leading S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) processes, leveraging data analytics for accuracy, and driving strategic improvements in systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle) and supplier networks.
Key Responsibilities- Demand Planning & Forecasting: Develop and own the monthly/weekly demand plan (S&OP/S&OE), utilizing statistical modeling to predict future product demand.
- Inventory & Supply Optimization: Optimize finished goods inventory levels to balance cost with customer service targets, preventing overstock or shortages.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to incorporate promotional plans, market intelligence, and product lifecycle changes.
- Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and manage vendor/co-manufacturer relationships.
- System & Process Improvement: Lead ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle) implementations, data analytics, and supply chain technologies to improve performance visibility.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide demand planning/supply chain staff, establishing KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias, fill rate) and setting performance goals.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in supply chain, demand planning, or operations management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s/MBA preferred. - Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced planning systems.
- Analytical
Skills:
Advanced data modeling, statistical forecasting techniques, and Excel skills. - Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and collaborating with executive leadership in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing, vendor capacity planning, and supply chain metrics
