Position: Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation)
A leading Northeast litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Boston civil litigation team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience while working across a broad range of practice areas, including general liability and premises liability defense, medical malpractice and long-term care defense, products liability, professional liability, commercial and business litigation, construction, trucking and vehicular liability, and employment matters.

This role is well-suited for attorneys with at least one year of civil litigation experience who are eager to take on complex legal challenges, develop courtroom skills, and grow within a collaborative and supportive firm environment while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities
  • Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in developing litigation strategies.
  • Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, clients, and experts on case strategy.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and developments.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain high standards of advocacy.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Massachusetts Bar admission in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of civil litigation experience.
  • Experience practicing in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
  • Strong advocacy skills, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Proficiency in legal research, discovery, and deposition practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
