Job Description
The trusts and estates administrative paralegal manage complex tasks in domestic estate and trust administration, ensuring exceptional service. The role requires independent work on estate administration, collaboration with attorneys, strong math and tech skills, and the ability to support and mentor colleagues. Compassion and professionalism when interacting with clients under stress are essential. The position demands excellent organizational, communication, client service, and technological abilities, as well as effective deadline management and adaptability.
Responsibilities- Identify, value, and gather assets; prepare probate and accounting documents
- Draft accountings for estates and trusts
- Prepare death tax returns (federal and state)
- Review wills and trust agreements with attorneys and assist in funding trusts
- Conduct basic legal research using reference materials
- Undergraduate degree and paralegal certification (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with court and agency procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF, document management software, and tax/accounting programs (e.g., Fast Tax, Pro Systems)
- Ability to learn new technology and respect client confidentiality
