Overview
The Attorney General’s Office is seeking a highly motivated individual of integrity and commitment to public service to serve as a Senior Financial Investigator in the Gaming Enforcement Division within the Criminal Bureau, based in the Springfield Office. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, administrators, and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police, and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes pursuant to G.L. c.
12, § 11M.

GAMING ENFORCEMENT DIVISION — Springfield Office
- Investigate criminal conduct related to expanded gaming in the Commonwealth, including violations of G.L. c. 23K, G.L. c. 23N, G.L. c. 267A, and G.L. c. 271, and other illegal activity such as gaming-related financial crime, cheating, public order offenses, organized crime, and money laundering occurring at the casino.
- Build bridges and exercise good judgment; work with State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit, the Attorney General’s Office, the Gaming Commission, and federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.
- Handle a case load and coordinate investigations with State Police, prosecutors, victim-witness advocates, paralegals, and support staff.
- Conduct financial investigation, background investigation, call detail analysis, report writing, affidavit writing, and integrate data from various sources.
- Testify in court and grand jury proceedings, assist with drafting and service of subpoenas and preservation orders, screen potential cases for investigation and prosecution, foster relationships with industry stakeholders, participate in training, and work cohesively with others in the Office of the Attorney General.
All employees assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Division are subject to the Enhanced Code of Ethics adopted pursuant to G.L. c. 12, § 11M(c).
Position DetailsPosition Type:
Full-Time/Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays. On in-office days, the position is required to report to the Western Massachusetts Regional Office in Springfield.
Salary: $90,640 to $100,940, commensurate with experience.

Position Requirements- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of investigatory experience, preferably with law enforcement. Prior experience with the investigation of gaming laws, organized crime, and/or money laundering is preferred.
- Experience conducting interviews and writing reports, as well as synthesizing and interpreting data.
- Experience testifying in court or other legal proceedings is preferred.
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment while remaining respectful, flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and social media sites with the ability to learn other software applications as needed.
- Experience with mining online databases and social media applications is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time-management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- A valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required, as travel is required to other areas of the Commonwealth in support of investigations and litigation.
