Todd & Weld LLPseeks an associate to join its criminal defense and government investigations group who will focus on defending health care providers in state and federal criminal proceedings, disciplinary proceedings, and audits. Candidates should have approximately 3-6 years of experience in health care law, as a trial prosecutor, or as a criminal defense attorney. Candidates must have experience with administrative hearings or criminal court trial experience, in addition to a commitment to the principle of zealous advocacy.
Candidates should desire to develop an active health care and criminal trial practice and be eager to take responsibility for a varied caseload with significant client contact.

Requirements:
- 3-6 years of experience in criminal defense, prosecution, or administrative hearings
- Excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Candidates must be admitted to practice in Massachusetts
- Federal Court experience is a plus
Preferred Experience:
- Defending health care providers in disciplinary proceedings before licensure boards
- Healthcare billing knowledge sufficient to advise and defend clients in audits and other billing related matters
- Anti-Kickback Laws, False Claims Act, Stark Law, and other federal laws commonly used to prosecute health care providers
- Familiarity with HIPAA and other privacy laws, particularly as they pertain to healthcare providers
Target annual salary for this position is commensurate with relevant experience: $146,000 - $164,000
