Overview
Senior Paralegal – Investment Management Contracts. 6-month contract opportunity with possible extension in the financial services industry. Hybrid work arrangement, reporting to the client’s office location in Boston, MA or New York, NY. Max hourly rate: 48.80/hr. 4 days/week onsite required. Location must be clearly outlined on the resume to be considered. Requires experience in a legal or contracting function within asset managers, financial institutions, or large corporations, and experience with technology applications.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Primarily assist with contracting and documentation for the Client Platform, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating investment management agreements, amendments, ancillary documentation, RFPs, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Advisory Legal team and business development and relationship management professionals.
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal team as necessary in connection with contracting work.
- Assist with complex issues arising on documentation and help establish controls and processes where required.
- Support the development and implementation of technology solutions in relation to the contracting process, including AI and Microsoft Office 365 Power Apps.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of legal processes, design, and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business, Finance, or a related field, with experience supporting legal or contracting functions in financial services.
- Experience in a legal or contracting function at an asset manager, financial institution, or large corporate, with experience in technology applications.
- Interest in the implementation of legal technology and process design and improvement.
- Good business judgment and strong collaboration skills.
- Pragmatic and risk-aware approach to contracting and coordination within the Legal team and wider business.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill and communicate complex issues in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Language skills are an asset but not a requirement.
