Assistant Attorney General – Constitutional & Administrative Law Division
Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join the Constitutional & Administrative Law Division within the Government Bureau. The Division defends constitutional and other legal challenges to state statutes and regulations, provides legal support for state agencies and officials in appeals and civil litigation, and handles trial‑court and appellate cases in state and federal courts.
Primary DutiesRepresent state officials and agencies in appeals recommended for state and federal courts, including challenges რატ statutesvina, regulations, policies, and agency adjudicatory decisions, and defend state policies and programs such as affordable housing, gun‑safety, First Amendment challenges, education reform, health care, campaign finance, environmental permitting, transportation, and child welfare.
Position TypeFull‑time / Exempt. The office operates under a hybrid model that allows a few remote workdays; employees are required to report to a designated office location—Boston or a regional office—on in‑office days.
Salary$87,500 to $130,595, commensurate with experience and JD year.

Qualifications &Position Requirements
- Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar or have a pending application for admission.
- Must be a member of the bar of the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts or be eligible for admission in short order.
- Preferred:
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant legal experience. - Familiarity with constitutional and administrative law, civil and appellate procedure, and trial practice.
- Effective legal writing skills and the ability to independently handle litigation in trial and appellate courts.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and working collaboratively in a public‑law environment.
