Senior Catastrophe Analyst
Base pay range: $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Job Summary: This third-level position holds primary responsibility for the catastrophe analysis of direct property portfolios, specifically covering North America Insurance, Programs, and Global Markets business segments. The Senior Catastrophe Analyst will collaborate with department members to coordinate the daily collection, cleansing, and preparation of policy and location files utilized within Allied World’s catastrophe modeling operations. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the consistent utilization of robust data quality controls.
The ideal candidate must possess significant, proven experience performing catastrophe analysis across all lines of insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain control record information for all bound business (e.g., number of accounts, Total Insured Value (TIV), number of locations), ensuring full reconciliation between the Allied World data warehouse and modeling exposure databases.
- Model accounts to produce exposure profiles, Average Annual Loss (AAL) by location, and Probable Maximum Loss (PML) / marginal impact analyses on an individual account basis.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance (QA) checks for all account Statements of Value (SOV).
- Track and report on exposures within high-hazard catastrophe areas.
- Assist various Allied World departments globally with their specific catastrophe analysis needs.
- Coordinate modeling data and requirements with external catastrophe analysts and brokers for reinsurance placements[DEL: . :
DEL] - Assist in the production of formal exposure and loss data for various rating agency questionnaires.
- Build and maintain active and current exposure databases as needed for the North America Insurance portfolios.
- Interact effectively with underwriting to obtain complete and timely data.
- Interpret policy structures and accurately code policy and location information data.
- Respond promptly to global catastrophe events with exposure reports and modeled loss estimates.
- Manage various reporting responsibilities and special ad-hoc projects as communicated by senior staff.
