Sales Director – Advanced Optical & Flat-Lens Technology

About the Client and Role

Our client is an emerging technology company developing next-generation optical components designed for high-performance, compact electronic systems.

As the business transitions from product validation into commercial scale-up, they are seeking a Sales Director to lead business development activities and build strategic customer relationships across multiple technology-driven industries.

This role will play a key part in shaping early commercial strategy and driving long-term revenue growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial sales and business development activities for advanced optical component solutions.
  • Develop relationships with OEMs, module manufacturers, and technology integrators.
  • Identify and secure new design opportunities across electronics, sensing, and high-performance system markets.
  • Serve as the commercial interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Support go-to-market planning and pipeline development as the company scales.
  • Establish strategic partnerships to support long-term manufacturing and distribution growth.
  • Contribute to building commercial processes and sales infrastructure.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in optical components, advanced materials, or semiconductor-related technology sales.
  • Experience developing early-stage commercial relationships in emerging technology markets.
  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to translate product capabilities into commercial value.
  • Experience working with OEMs and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Comfortable building sales structure within a scaling organisation.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in imaging, sensing, semiconductor-adjacent, or advanced electronics markets.
  • Experience supporting transition from prototype to scaled manufacturing.
  • Strong commercial acumen within high-growth or venture-backed businesses.
