Our Client, a Research, Care and Health Financing company, is looking for a UX Researcher for their Boston, MA/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities
  • Embed accessibility into discovery, concepting, and design critiques
  • Define accessible interaction patterns
  • Ensure color contrast, typography, spacing, and motion meet accessibility standards
  • Review design artifacts for accessibility risks before handoff
Research & Validation
  • Advocate for inclusive research practices
  • Partner with Research to include participants with disabilities
  • Validate designs with assistive technology where appropriate
Design System Contribution
  • Define accessibility standards for components in our design system
  • Create clear accessibility annotations and specs for engineering handoff
  • Ensure accessibility guidance is documented in Figma/component libraries
Enablement
  • Train designers on accessibility
  • Develop accessibility design guidelines and playbooks
  • Elevate accessibility maturity across the UX org
Requirements
  • 5+ years in product or interaction design
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Accessible interaction design patterns
    • Color contrast and visual accessibility
    • Assistive technologies and keyboard behavior
    • WCAG 2.1/2.2 AAA requirements
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate accessibility standards into usable design constraints
  • Experience running or supporting inclusive usability testing
  • Experience scaling accessibility through a design system
  • Accessibility issues are resolved in design before development
  • Designers confidently apply inclusive design principles
  • Accessibility annotations become standard in handoffs
  • The design system prevents common accessibility failures
  • Accessibility shifts from compliance to product quality
