Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced L3 MySQL / Couchbase DBA to design, operate, and optimize highly available, multi-region database platforms . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MySQL internals, No

SQL (Couchbase) , performance tuning, automation, and security, along with the ability to mentor DBAs and partner closely with engineering teams
.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-region high-availability (HA) architectures using:

• MySQL Group Replication

• Orchestrators and failover frameworks

• Plan and implement sharding, partitioning , and data lifecycle management strategies.

• Tune InnoDB buffer pool , redo logs, and I/O patterns for optimal performance.

• Diagnose and resolve complex locking, deadlocks, and contention issues
  .

• Build and maintain performance baselines, dashboards, and KPIs
  .

• Automate database build, patching, upgrades , and configuration drift detection
  .

• Enforce schema management, release standards, and deployment best practices
  .

• Support incident response and root-cause analysis for production issues.

• Implement encryption (at rest & in transit), auditing, and access controls.

• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards
  .

• Support data governance and risk mitigation initiatives.

• Forecast capacity requirements and manage database cost optimization
  .

• Support scaling strategies aligned with business growth and performance needs.

• Coach and mentor junior DBAs
  .

• Partner with application engineering and platform teams on database design and optimization.

• Provide expert guidance during architecture reviews and production readiness assessments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator

• Strong hands-on expertise with MySQL in enterprise, high-availability environments.

• Experience with
