OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-based data solutions within a modern enterprise data ecosystem. This role will focus on developing scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake as the core data platform.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong in data engineering fundamentals, and experienced working in collaborative environments with analytics, business intelligence, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within Snowflake.
- Develop and optimize ELT/ETL processes using modern orchestration tools.
- Implement data ingestion workflows from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Write efficient SQL and optimize Snowflake queries for performance and cost.
- Build and manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, tasks, and streams.
- Contribute to Snowflake data warehouse architecture design and best practices.
- Implement data modeling approaches (dimensional, star/snowflake schemas, medallion architecture).
- Optimize compute usage, warehouse sizing, clustering, and performance tuning.
- Support governance initiatives including data lineage, metadata management, and access controls.
- Integrate Snowflake with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Develop APIs or automated data workflows using tools such as Airflow, dbt, ADF, or similar.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and version control practices (Git-based workflows).
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and secure data sharing practices.
- Support encryption, masking, and data governance policies.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Partner with data analysts, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Support UAT and production deployment activities.
- 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing.
- Strong SQL expertise with advanced query optimization skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, ADF, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD processes.
- Snowflake certification (Snow Pro Core or Advanced).
- Experience implementing medallion or lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, biotech, financial services).
- Knowledge of Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
