We are seeking a Sr. Principal Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead enterprise-scale delivery across a complex Agile Release Train (ART) supporting large data and analytics initiatives. This role connects strategy to execution by driving Planning Increments (PIs) and delivery outcomes across multiple global business functions. The position is highly strategic, focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and orchestration of large, multi-team value streams.
CoreResponsibilities
- Lead PI Planning, system demos, release readiness activities, and retrospectives while managing cross-team dependencies and risk mitigation
- Track and analyze ART performance metrics and financials; communicate delivery health to senior leadership
- Champion SAFe practices and scaled Agile frameworks across the organization
- Mentor Scrum Masters and Product Owners; model servant leadership and systems thinking
- Drive enterprise process improvements to reduce waste and increase delivery velocity
- Align ART objectives with portfolio strategy and organizational goals
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration and team dynamics
- Remove impediments and elevate risks appropriately
- Strong decision‑making and ability to anticipate downstream impacts
- Agile mindset and systems thinking
- Understanding of data as a product (SLAs, quality, customer impact)
- Coaching and mentoring leadership style
- Ability to build high‑trust, high‑performance teams
- Adaptability with new tools and techniques

- Expert knowledge of SAFe and Agile product lifecycle delivery
- Deep proficiency in Scrum, Kanban, XP, and Lean principles
- Familiarity with modern data ecosystems (Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Strong technical and business acumen to align delivery with strategy
- Advanced facilitation skills for scaled Agile environments
- Expertise in Agile reporting and tooling (Jira, Agile Place, Power BI)
- Strong experience in Agile planning and estimation
- 5+ years experience in Agile delivery
- 2+ years as a Release Train Engineer or equivalent program‑level leader
- Experience leading large Agile Release Trains (6+ teams)
- Hands‑on experience with Jira and reporting tools (Power BI or Tableau)
- Budget and financial management exposure
- Executive‑level communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- SAFe SPC, RTE, or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience with Lean Portfolio Management
- Exposure to multiple scaled Agile frameworks
- Experience facilitating distributed/hybrid teams
