Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Dev Ops – Data will be responsible for integrating the project functions and resources across the product life cycle, from planning, building, testing, and deployment to support. The Assistant Vice President will design and implement efficient procedures and pipelines for software development and infrastructure deployment, manage and deploy various key data systems and services. The Assistant Vice President will also expand and optimize the data and data pipeline architecture, and optimize data flow and collection for cross‑functional teams.

The role will work closely with Cloud engineers, Data Engineers, System Administrators, Data Administrators, and Architects to leverage Dev Ops technologies to process large volumes of data. The Assistant Vice President will support data strategy initiatives with business stakeholders, data architects, and IT teams, ensuring consistent architecture and optimal system performance. The role also involves building CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment.

Responsibilities
  • Build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline) for Data Infrastructure using Terraform and Gitlab CI/CD.
  • Build containerized application platform using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Select and deploy Gitlab CI/CD tools and pipeline.
  • Implement development, testing, automation tools, and Data infrastructure.
  • Deploy updates and fixes; install and maintain software, services, and applications by identifying system requirements.
  • Maintain environment by installing upgrades, monitoring system performance, and building automated processes.
  • Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for Dev Ops operation.
  • Review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
  • Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
  • Plan team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
  • Lead a team of Dev Ops engineers onsite and offshore.
  • Set goals and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Understand business objectives and create cloud‑based solutions to facilitate them.
  • Build pipeline to migrate systems from on‑premise to AWS cloud.
  • Maintain system performance through monitoring and analysis; tune performance.
  • Upgrade systems and services; develop, test, evaluate, and install enhancements and new software.
  • Communicate with technology teams and stakeholders and build applications to meet project needs.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, manage incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Dev Ops engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Terraform and Gitlab CI/CD.
  • Minimum 5 years of AWS Cloud experience, including EC2, ECS, VPC, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Batch, RDS, and Redshift.
  • Experience with Cloud Formation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with jFrog Artifactory for hosting and managing binary artifacts.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes container platforms.
  • Experience with Agile software development using JIRA.
  • Experience in multiple OS platforms, with strong emphasis on Linux and Windows.
