Our MSP client has an immediate need for an Application Services Systems Administrator This is a junior-level position that requires experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining app services environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with administration and monitoring of application servers and web platforms, including Web Logic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache HTTPD Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle APEX, and Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, backups, and configuration changes and monitor system performance
- Assist in troubleshooting application and service issues, escalating as needed
- Support application services in Azure App Services and related cloud platforms
- Automation & Continuous Improvement:
Assist with automation and scripting of routine tasks (Power Shell, Bash, or similar) - Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT or system administration.
- Basic understanding of application servers and web platforms (examples: Web Logic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache HTTPD Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle APEX, ORDS).
- Familiarity with Azure App Services or other cloud application hosting platforms.
- Ability to participate in 24×7 on-call rotations.
