User Experience Researcher

Overview

We are seeking a UX Research Contractor to independently scope and execute user research across digital products supporting multiple user groups, including customers and internal teams for our client. This role partners closely with Product, UX, Analytics, and Technology teams to ensure design decisions are grounded in user needs and business objectives.

The contractor will lead end-to-end research efforts, applying qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover user behaviors, synthesize insights, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations that inform product and experience strategy.

• Plan and execute user research (usability testing, interviews, surveys, card sorting)
• Lead discovery efforts including persona development and journey mapping
• Translate complex findings into concise, actionable insights for stakeholders
• Partner cross-functionally to influence product and design decisions
• Present research outcomes to senior and executive stakeholders

• 5+ years of UX Research experience in a corporate or agile environment
• Strong expertise in qualitative research methods; quantitative experience a plus
• Experience with tools such as Qualtrics, User Zoom, or similar
• Familiarity with Design Thinking and Lean UX methodologies
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced contract setting

• Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., insurance or financial services)
• Comfort working within agile product development teams
