Salary range: $75-85hr
Purpose and ScopeThe Technical Lead Architect Network oversees the coordination and implementation of data communication systems, ensuring the efficient operation of the Authority's network infrastructure. In addition to troubleshooting and overseeing network equipment maintenance, the Lead Network Administrator conducts research on network products and services, develops policies and procedures, and produces documentation of network problems. This role also involves evaluating new networking equipment and providing guidance on network implementation for new construction projects and locations.
PrincipalDuties and Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and implementing data communication systems.
- Troubleshoot or problem solve. Quickly and correctly diagnose problems, know how best to fix them, and effectively communicate the solution to either co-workers or end-users.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards for network procurement and development efforts.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Authority’s Data-Communications network by monitoring activity to ensure timely identification of problems.
- Effectively communicate with Data-Communication vendors to facilitate the resolution of circuit or hardware problems.
- Produce clear, concise, and timely documentation of all network problems.
- Maintain current knowledge of teleprocessing-network concepts and hardware alternatives through continuing education and training.
- Plan and coordinate the movement, placement, installation and cabling of data communications equipment.
- Assist in the development of the Authority’s direction for telecommunication implementation of total network services.
- Assist in conducting site visits and walkthroughs to assess network infrastructure. Provide recommendations based on evaluations and collaborate with the network team or manager to address logistical needs during visits.
- Evaluate new construction projects and new locations for network recommendations and implementation.
- Develop career paths for team members.
- Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist at emergencies and/or events as needed.
- Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.

- Available to work as per assignment by twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as directed by supervisory staff for severe weather conditions, emergencies or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service.

Minimum Education- Person must be a CCIE written and practical
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

- The ability to configure networks utilizing multiple routing protocols, including Routing Information Protocol Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Enhanced Gateway Routing Protocol (EGRP), Multiprotocol label switching, L3 VPN, ISIS, and L2 VPN network protocols.
