Sales Engineer, Technical Sales
We’re seeking a Sales Engineering Leader to build and lead our Sales Engineering organization — a mission-critical role as we scale our go-to-market motion. You’ll define how 7AI engages deeply with customers on technical value, lead pre-sales engineering excellence, mentor a team of sales engineers, and act as a strategic partner to sales leadership.
This is a foundational leadership role — perfect for an experienced sales engineering expert who enjoys hiring, coaching, scaling processes, and serving as the bridge between customer needs and cutting-edge cybersecurity technology. This role will ideally report out of our Boston office, however, we are open to a remote role for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do:
Build, lead, and scale the Sales Engineering function, including hiring, coaching, and career development.
Establish performance standards, processes, and operating rhythms for a high-impact Sales Engineering team.
Act as the technical authority in enterprise sales engagements, articulating 7AI’s architecture, value, and security outcomes.
Partner with Sales to drive strategy and execution on complex deals, including RFPs, PoCs, and deep technical evaluations.
Lead customer-facing workshops, demos, and proofs of concept that demonstrate real-world impact in security environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to provide market feedback and influence roadmap decisions.
Build scalable pre-sales processes, tools, and enablement to support a growing GTM organization.
Represent 7AI externally through customer briefings, events, and thought leadership in AI-driven SOC transformation.
10+ years of Sales Engineering experience in Cybersecurity
Proven leadership experience building and scaling sales engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex pre-sales engagements with enterprise customers.
Strong technical background in security operations, SIEM/SOAR, endpoint/cloud security, or related domains.
Experience with AI/ML-powered security products or automation platforms.
Experience working with channel/partner GTM models.
Prior startup experience or scaling teams in high-growth environments.
