As a member of the Information Technology Services Network Operations team, the EDP Systems Analyst IV reports to the Senior Director of Network Operations. The role provides technical support to maintain the performance, resiliency, security, and availability of all network communications, server infrastructure, and related services required in day‑to‑day operations for BHCC's staff, faculty, and students. This includes monitoring and maintaining the health, integrity, and security of systems located in the data center and throughout the.fl

network. The position works closely with other members of Information Technology Services.

• Perform troubleshooting and Borough of network security and system administration issues.
• Monitor and maintain the security, health, and integrity of the network infrastructure.
• Provide support for new staff and faculty user account creation and terminations as communicated by Human Resources.
• Provide support for new student account creation.
• Work with and manage telephone, voice, faxing, and printing related services.
• Work with third‑party contracted managed services vendors, including Office
  365, Barracuda Email services, and Crowd Strike Anti‑Virus.
• Identify user needs and resolve through appropriate technical infrastructure and services.
• Monitor and resolve IT Network Operations help‑desk requests, acting as Tier IV escalation for Tier I, II, and III support staff.
• Administer switches, firewalls, phone systems, and Wi‑Fi.
• Apply security updates and patches to various network infrastructures.
• Deploy and maintain network servers, including Windows OS and Linux OS.
• Occasional travel to other BHCC campuses (Chelsea and Chinatown) to perform related network administration and support duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have at least five years of full‑time, or equivalent part‑time, professional experience in electronic data processing, of which at least three years must have been in work that included computer systems analysis, or any equivalent combination of the required experience and the following substitutions.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

• Associate’s degree in data processing or computer programming may substitute up to one year of the required experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in data processing or computer and/or information science may substitute up to two years of the required experience.
• Graduate degree in data processing or computer and/or information science may substitute up to two years of the required experience.
• Diploma from a two‑year full‑time or equivalent part‑time program in a recognized non‑degree granting business or vocational/technical school with a major in computer programming may substitute up to one year of the required.car experience.
• Official transcript from a recognized business or vocational/technical school evidencing completion of at least 650 hours of instruction in computer programming may substitute up to one year of the required experience.
• Graduation from a data processing course of a recognized vocational/technical high school may 单 substitute up to one year of the required experience.

Note: Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated based on the proportion of requirements actually completed.

• Experience supporting and administering Microsoft Active Directory Services.
• Experience supporting Office 365 applications and related cloud services.
• Experience installing, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Linux, and VMware.
