Salary: $230,000 - $250,000 Base + Benefits
The RoleA fast-growing Series C SaaS company in the AI space is seeking an exceptional Lead Dev Ops Engineer / Dev Ops Manager to lead and scale its Dev Ops function during a critical phase of hypergrowth.
This is a hands-on infrastructure leadership role for someone who thrives as a player-coach
—owning key infrastructure initiatives while shaping the direction, standards, and best practices of the Dev Ops organization. The goal is to build scalable enablement through automation, platforms, and self-service infrastructure that empower product, data, and ML engineering teams to move quickly without compromising reliability, security, or quality.
You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor across the organization, architecting and delivering solutions that have a meaningful impact on engineering operations at scale.
Responsibilities- Lead and evolve the Dev Ops function, operating as a player-coach while setting technical direction, standards, and best practices.
- Build and maintain automation, platforms, and self-service infrastructure to enable engineering teams to move faster with confidence.
- Own and drive critical infrastructure initiatives across cloud, CI/CD, and deployment workflows.
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily GCP
) supporting production workloads. - Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and standards using Terraform and related tooling.
- Establish and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release reliability.
- Partner closely with product, data, ML, and security teams as a trusted technical advisor.
- Define and strengthen observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
- Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, focusing on long-term improvements.
- Mentor and develop Dev Ops engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale infrastructure supporting production workloads.
- Strong experience with configuration management and IaC tools (e.g.,
Terraform
, Pulumi). - 3+ years of experience building automation tooling in a modern programming language (preferably Python or Go
). - At least 1 year of people management or equivalent team-lead experience.
- Experience with relational databases (
PostgreSQL required). - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (ideally GKE).
- At least 3 years of experience with modern CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment workflows and cloud IaaS providers (
GCP preferred
).
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or something relatable
- Startup experience. Understanding of hypergrowth in a recently funded company
