EHR Portfolio Manager

Full Time | Hybrid (Local) | Salary: $139,700–$160,000

Requirements to Apply
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project and portfolio management, including resource planning, budgeting, prioritization, and reporting
  • Proven experience managing large, high-visibility IT portfolios
  • Experience with project/portfolio management tools (Planview, Service Now, or similar)
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

Job Overview

The EHR Portfolio Manager leads governance, planning, and execution of a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) portfolio. This role partners closely with IT leadership, clinical stakeholders, and executive teams to ensure EHR initiatives align with organizational strategy, budget, and operational priorities. The position is responsible for portfolio governance, roadmap development, executive reporting, and continuous process improvement across EHR programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain a 3–5 year EHR strategic roadmap aligned with executive and organizational priorities
  • Lead EHR portfolio governance, intake, prioritization, and project scoring processes
  • Track portfolio performance including timelines, dependencies, costs, risks, and resourcing
  • Develop business cases, financial analyses, and ROI assessments for EHR initiatives
  • Produce executive-level dashboards, reports, and presentations
  • Facilitate EHR governance committees, leadership meetings, and roadmap planning sessions
  • Partner with PMO, application leaders, and clinical stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance with standards
  • Mentor project managers and “accidental PMs” in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Ensure effective use of portfolio tools such as Planview, Service Now, and Epic
  • Support EHR data governance, knowledge management, and continuous improvement initiatives
