Responsible for providing, designing, developing, testing, implementing and ongoing maintenance of new and existing software applications.
The Physical Security Systems Application Specialist is responsible for the configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of the organization's physical access control, video management, and radio communication applications and systems. This role supports Police and Security Operations by ensuring all security technologies operate reliably and securely. Responsibilities include system administration, on-site field work, hardware/software , and light project management for new installations and upgrades.
This position requires after-hours support as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, deploy, and maintain physical access control systems (EBI, Genetec) and video management systems (Milestone XProtect).
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network-related issues across cameras, door controllers, servers, readers, and radio equipment.
- Perform routine system administration including badge/access creation, role and permissions management obrigatório maintenance of user and access records Crawt.
- Provide operational support for security incidents, system outages, and device failures; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct field work to inspect and service cameras, door hardware, access control devices, and network-connected security equipment.
- Utilize basic networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLAN concepts, PoE, routing/switching basics) to diagnose device connectivity and performance
Debates. - Assist with project management tasks for new building deployments, system upgrades, and expansions of security infrastructure.
- Coordinate with Police/Security teams, IT, Facilities, and external vendors during system installations, service requests, and troubleshooting.
- Document configurations, create system diagrams, update maintenance logs, and develop end-user or internal support documentation.
- Support integrations and configuration updates across access control, video, and radio systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Security Technology, or related field or
equivalent professional experience. - Minimum 2-3 years of experience supporting, deploying, or maintaining physical security systems, access control platforms, or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of access control, video management, or other physical security technologies.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, PoE, device connectivity).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, and networking layers.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with both technical and non-technical staff including Police and Security personnel.
- Ability to conduct field work and perform hands-on adjustments, device checks, and equipment installations.
- Strong organizational skills for managing system records, access requests, and project documentation.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and general office productivity applications.
- Programming or scripting experience is a plus but not required.
- Light to moderate field work (approximately 20-40%) involving on-site inspection and servicing of cameras, access devices, and radio systems.
- Occasional after-hours support required for critical system issues or security-related incidents.
