Position SummaryThe Field Service Technician provides technical support to the organization’s internal users of computer applications and hardware (e.g., PCs, servers, mainframes). The technician answers questions regarding system procedures, online transactions, system status, and downtime procedures, typically located within a call center. The role collaborates with network services, software systems engineering, and/or application development to restore service and identify problems, and maintains a troubleshooting tracking log to ensure timely resolution.
WhatYou Will Do
- Deliver technical support to field employees, assisting with issues related to point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, pharmacy systems, photo kiosks, and inventory management systems.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as software updates, hardware upgrades, and equipment replacements, to ensure smooth functioning of systems within the store.
- Integrate new technology equipment into stores, including setting up new POS terminals, configuring software, and ensuring proper connectivity.
- Conduct complex troubleshooting when technical issues arise, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions.
- Assist in managing accurate records of all service calls, equipment installations, and maintenance tasks performed.
- Collaborate with other technology team members, including help desk personnel, network engineers, and software developers.
- Provide exceptional customer service while installing, diagnosing, and solving retail equipment failures.
- Ensure IT parts, supplies, and equipment are ready by inventorying stock and placing orders.
This position requires on‑call availability 24 hours a day and a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. The role provides a company car and company phone.
Required Qualifications- 1+ year of hands‑on experience troubleshooting hardware, maintenance, and repairs
- Valid driver’s license with no major violations
- Willingness to drive between CVS locations in the Foxboro, MA area; residency in the supported territory required
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift 75 lbs or more and occasionally work on a ladder
- Technical certifications
- Technical degree
- Previous field service technician experience
- High school diploma or GED required

Pay Range$18.50 – $38.82 per hour
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in this job grade. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay.
