Data Analyst – EMED Research and Innovation

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) seeks a technical Data Analyst/Scientist. This role focuses on full‑stack development and deployment of applications within real clinical environments rather than traditional static reporting.

• Full‑Stack Application Development:
  Design, build, and maintain production‑grade web applications. Develop APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django) and build responsive front‑end interfaces (React).
• Generative AI Implementation:
  Collaborate with physicians to integrate and pilot Generative AI tools within clinical workflows; manage compute resources and API integrations.
• Data Engineering & Operations:
  Extract, clean, and model complex clinical data from Snowflake using advanced SQL. Ensure robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Infrastructure & Deployment:
  Containerize applications with Docker and manage deployment pipelines. Ensure software reliability and security in a health‑care setting.
• Collaboration:
  
  Translate clinical requirements into technical specifications. Work closely with researchers to move projects from “analysis scripts” to deployed software.

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Django, FastAPI).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and software engineering best practices.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or health‑care data standards.
• Ability to write production‑ready code; not suitable for analysts limited to Jupyter Notebooks, R scripting, or dashboard tools.

$56,160.00 USD – $97,760.00 USD (annual base). Compensation determined by seniority, education, training, experience, geography, and job responsibilities.
