About The Role

We are seeking an accomplished and technically strong Vice President of Information Security to report directly to the CISO of a $2.5B pre-IPO technology company. In this role, you will provide leadership across security strategy, operations, architecture, and compliance while maintaining deep technical fluency in modern cyber defense. You will drive initiatives that protect sensitive data, ensure the resilience of global infrastructure, and uphold trust across customers, partners, and regulators.

As VP of Information Security, you will oversee world-class teams, lead high-stakes incident response, and architect defenses against advanced adversaries. You’ll partner with the CISO and executive leadership to set multi-year strategy while staying close to the evolving threat landscape.

What You’ll Do

• Strategic Leadership:
  Define and execute security programs across application, infrastructure, and data security in alignment with business priorities.
• Threat Management:
  Lead proactive detection, response, and threat hunting efforts against nation-state actors, ransomware, and advanced persistent threats.
• Security Architecture:
  Oversee the design and implementation of secure architectures for cloud, containerized, and on-prem environments.
• Incident Response:
  Serve as executive lead during major incidents, ensuring rapid containment, remediation, and communication.
• Governance & Compliance:
  Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) while promoting security-by-design.
• Collaboration:
  
  Partner with product, engineering, legal, and operations teams to embed security into development life cycles and company culture.
• Innovation:
  Champion adoption of cutting-edge security technologies in zero trust, AI-driven detection, and cryptography.
• Talent & Culture:
  Build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams in security engineering, operations, and risk management.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience:
  
  12+ years in cybersecurity, with at least 5+ years in senior leadership roles across security domains.
• Technical Depth:
  Expertise in cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure), Dev Sec Ops , cryptography, SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, and identity management.
• Incident Response:
  Proven success leading responses to complex breaches and security crises.
• Strategic Vision:
  Ability to balance long-term risk reduction with enabling innovation and growth.
• Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, OSCP, or equivalent hands-on and leadership credentials.
• Communication:
  Exceptional ability to present complex security topics to both technical and executive audiences.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field.
