Manager, Infrastructure – Harbour Vest Partners

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to enhance the technical depth and operational excellence of our Infrastructure Operations team. This role reports into the Director of Global Service Desk (GSD) and is responsible for ensuring enterprise services maintain technical currency, driving process improvements, and acting as a technical mentor to the team.

Hybrid Work Arrangement

You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. You may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day infrastructure operations and team performance.
  • Own the infrastructure operations ticketing queue and ensure timely completion of data center tasks (e.g., virtual machine provisioning, performance troubleshooting).
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and standardization.
  • Provide technical assistance and mentorship to colleagues in the Infrastructure Operations group, encouraging their growth and boosting morale.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business collaborators to align support strategies with organizational goals and upcoming initiatives.
  • Ensure high availability of infrastructure systems and continuous monitoring.
  • Participate in critical incident response and on‑call rotations, ensuring resolution and clear communication to senior management.
  • Contribute to project delivery and operational readiness across IT initiatives.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as provisioning new hardware, replacing disks, accessing cables in the datacenter racks, and removing hardware for disposal.

  • Demonstrable experience running enterprise‑level infrastructure services and leading teams.
  • Ability to explain technical risks in a way that makes sense to business leaders.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of visualization, VDI, storage, backup, Windows, Linux, and hypervisor replication.
  • Experience planning and running disaster recovery tests.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes for incidents, requests, problems, and changes.
  • Good grasp of networking basics (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Proactive approach to operations: setting up health checks, patch baselines, capacity plans, and performance metrics.
  • Strong automation skills—using Power Shell and scripting to reduce repetitive work and standardize builds.
  • Phenomenal communication and people skills.
  • Experience working within SOC1 controls and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize what matters most.
Education Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of team lead or people‑management experience.
Salary Range

$ – $. This USD base salary range is one component of total compensation, which may also include a discretionary annual bonus, long‑term reward programs, and a comprehensive total rewards package. Eligibility for certain components varies by position and geography.
