Job Description

Labor Relations plays an integral role in the negotiation, administration, and interpretation of the University's collective bargaining agreements. The position reports to the Director of Labor Relations who reports to the Executive Director of Employee & Labor Relations. This role supports the Director in negotiating, administering, and interpreting the University's collective bargaining agreements. Working with management, staff, and union representatives, the Manager will play an important role in building and maintaining a positive working environment by providing timely counseling, advice, training, and guidance on labor related matters such as policy and procedure development, performance management, workforce support and engagement, contractual wage and hour matters, conflict resolution, mediations, arbitrations, and labor laws.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate, administer, and interpret collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide counseling, advice, training, and guidance on labor related matters.
  • Support the Director in policy and procedure development, performance management, workforce support and engagement, wage and hour compliance, conflict resolution, mediations, arbitrations, and labor laws compliance.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor or master's degree in labor relations (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
